Kathryn Healy: Kids don't get checks
Kathryn's kids: Sarah, Peter, Jaclyn and Kaitlyn
Registered nurse, 52, Buffalo, N.Y.

There is a huge population that will not qualify for the rebates. Two of my kids are over 17, yet I still claim them for tax purposes. They are going to school, they both work and pay taxes yet they will not qualify for a rebate as I claim them.

My daughter works three jobs and made $8,000 last year. She could really have used the help as the gas prices are killing these young kids and it's not like I am getting anything for them because they are over 17 and do not qualify as a child.

I think this is affecting a lot of families, and I guarantee that segment of the population would have spent the economic stimulus.
