Energy stocks are attractive despite their price run-up, says John Keeley, portfolio manager of the Chicago-based Keeley Small Cap Value Fund. One of his favorites off the 2008 FSB 100 list is Carrizo Oil & Gas (No. 41), which boasts both promising acreage for exploration and improved drilling technology to find gas.

"They should benefit for a long time," Keeley says.
